Musicians and Singers
Many of you may have been privileged, as I was, to be at Jo Collins’ concert in the Church last Saturday night. It was a wonderful mixture of music in celebration of, and concern for, our beautiful world – Our Common Home. If you were not able to be there, you can still watch the Concert on our YouTube channel or via our website.
Jo has been making music, and inspiring others to make music, at Christ the King for over 50 years. We are truly blessed to have had so many gifted and talented musicians and singers in our Parish over the years. However, as the Parish changes and evolves, we are always looking for new people to join any of our Groups. We are particularly in need of musicians at the moment, particularly wind instruments, guitars and bass. There are three groups which lead the singing at our Sunday Masses and you can contact the Co-ordinator of one of these if you would like to be involved. We try to keep the commitment to a minimum and usually set up and rehearse in the Church for one hour before Mass starts.
The music is arranged on a monthly basis as follows:
The rota up to Christmas can be seen in the corridor.
If you are interested in joining one of the Groups each month, please give your details to the relevant Co-Ordinator, or to Suzanne in the Parish Office who will pass your information to us.

As I have said before, if you do not want to join one of our groups then you still have an important role to play. The music is there to lead the Congregation and is not a performance. It should help you to achieve a fuller, active and conscious participation in the Service. As music leaders, we find most joy in hearing an involved and participating Congregation. Sing up everyone!
A Prayer for Musicians
Heavenly Father, source of all music,
Grant your strength and guidance to musicians everywhere.
Help us to use the gifts you have given us
And through our music help us be instruments of your peace.
May our music inspire our worship, lift our spirits
And draw us closer to you.
Amen
