PRAYER FOR THE UNITY OF CHRISTIANS

18-25 January is the annual week of prayer for Christian Unity. There will be a service on Tuesday, 23 January at Christ the King at 8.00pm to which we have invited Christians from the churches in our area.

Lord Jesus,

who prayed that we might all be one,

we pray to You for the unity of Christians,

according to Your will,

according to Your means.

May Your Spirit enable us

to experience the suffering caused by division,

to see our sin,

and to hope beyond all hope.

Amen

(Chemin Neuf Community, 1973)

This year’s theme is “Being Good Neighbours” and will feature Jo Collins and Mary Ward from our local Chickenshed Theatre as well as selections from the Rock musical.

Join the Ecumenical Chorus!

Rock is a musical based on the life of St Peter. It was first performed in 1973 at the Parish of Christ the King and is being revived to celebrate Chickenshed’s 50th Anniversary.  Performances will be 24 March  (Palm Sunday) in the church and  25 March at Chickenshed.  Rehearsals begin at Christ the King, weekly from Friday 26 January 7.15-8.30pm.  If you are interested, please email joc@chickenshed.org.uk
