PARISH NEWS

Advent Giving Calendar Campaign

Advent marks the beginning of the liturgical year in the church and we will soon start to prepare and celebrate the coming of Jesus Christ as the God’s Word incarnate, Light of the world and our Saviour.

Advent is a time when we open our hearts to embrace this beautiful season, when we are encouraged to think of those for whom Christmas is going to be tough this year and we might share the “light” and the “hope” that Jesus brought us.

In our parish we want to join a campaign run by Caritas Westminster during this special time, to support the food projects who are providing support for many in difficulty in our communities.

The Advent Giving Calendar suggests items to donate each day in December. It’s a tool to help to collect extra donations for the busy Christmas and winter period.

Bring the collected items to the parish and a dedicated team from OCH will take them to the North Enfield Food Bank for you.

Thank you in advance for any little help to support this initiative and let us share the love of being brothers and sisters in the family of Christ, our Lord.

Have a great Advent giving collection!

Caterina, Pastoral Assistant

Focus of the Week

Advent Online Retreat

Sunday 3 December (introductory zoom for all at 7pm) to Friday 8 December (ending zoom at 7pm)

Advent is a good time to stop and reconnect with the Lord, to reflect on the last three months of the year, and to prepare our heart to welcome our Saviour.

It includes five days of online guided retreat in everyday life to come into the Lord’s presence and listen to the Word of God.  There will be a daily pre-recorded short talk, a time of personal prayer and spiritual accompaniment.

Please register on the website or with the parish office.
