Newsletter - September 20th
Dear brothers and sisters,
The parish’s launch day is a good time to reflect on and to renew our strength while we continue working towards the parish’s vision. One and a half year ago, you might remember, the planned giving drive prompted us to reflect on a three-fold vision for the parish.
The first one was to work that our parish remain a place where everyone is happy and safe to experience their faith together, building our parish community as a family. Much has been achieved throughout the years, thanks to the effort, generosity and work of so many. However, this is and will always be an ongoing job. This year again, we can consider how important it is to keep this vision in mind: the work carried out by different teams such as tea and coffee and the welcome team is so precious. I would like to encourage you to support and help them in whatever way you can.
We also have other teams contributing to a vibrant liturgy, and helping us to experience the Eucharist at the centre of our parish congregation. At the end of masses during this weekend, you will have the opportunity to meet representatives of different groups which contribute to the life and dynamism of the parish, please take some time to understand their role and duties and if you feel like supporting them in one or another way, please do not hesitate.
This coming year, we are planning again Timothy + weekends, which are a means to go deeper into one’s faith over one weekend – children having their own programme while parents follow theirs’ in order to continue our commitment toward future generations. Moreover, we intend to organise a pilgrimage to Medjugorje in April 2027.
Finally let us celebrate the 90th anniversary of the parish with a special celebration around the feast of Christ the King in November! We can rejoice and give thanks to God for the history of this parish, for the contribution of the monks and of so many parishioners all over the years and also for the point we have reached now. And most of all for his promise to remain with us every day until the end of time (Matthew 28:20). For all this, we are grateful to the Lord.
