Newsletter - 1 March

Dear sisters and brothers in Christ,

As Lent begins, we are gently invited once again to return to the Lord — to come home to the One who loves us. This holy season is not a burden, but a gift: a time to pause, to listen, and to allow God to draw us closer to His heart.

Sometimes, at the start of Lent, we may wonder where to begin or what we can do to deepen our relationship with Him. To help us on this journey, the Diocese of Westminster has prepared a programme called “Dare to Ask.”

You are warmly invited to join us every Tuesday evening during Lent at 8pm in the church for a simple time of prayer and sharing, following this discussion programme. Over five sessions, we will reflect together on the beautiful gift we received in Christian Baptism. We will take time for prayer, quiet reflection, and sharing as we revisit the baptismal promises we renew at Easter.

This is an opportunity to rediscover the hidden life of God within us — the life we were given in baptism — and to remember that we are beloved sons and daughters of the Father. It is a chance to renew our faith and to profess with confidence the saving truth we celebrate at the Easter Vigil.

As we begin this Lenten journey, we remember that God desires only what is best for us. He never forces us, but lovingly invites us to choose life, hope, and blessing. Perhaps this Lent, the simplest step is just to come, to be present, and to dare to ask.

We look forward to walking this journey with you.

Focus of the week

Lenten Faith Sharing Course: We Dare to Ask

This Lent, all parishioners are warmly invited to join We Dare to Ask—a five week journey exploring our Baptismal Vocation. Each session includes scripture, prayer, art, and a reflection to help us prepare to renew our Baptismal promises at Easter.

Whether your baptism feels like a distant memory, a recent family celebration, or something you are preparing for now, this course offers a way to deepen your faith and walk more closely with Christ.

Come and take time this Lent to reflect, share, and grow in the joy of the life we are called to live as baptised people of God.

We will meet on Tuesdays 8.00 – 9.15pm in the church for 5 weeks starting 24 February 2026.

This week we will reflect and pray on God's creation out of love and how we are made in God's image.
