Marriage

God created us, men and women, meant for marriage. To fall in love and desire to start a family is a tremendous step in the life of any individual.

Marriage is always an occasion of great joy, and our parish is more than happy to prepare and support couples who are taking this step in their relationship.

We wanted to be married at Christ The King because it’s a place that we feel welcome and supported as a couple. The ceremony itself felt sacred, joyful and gave us a real sense of the loving presence of God. As parishioners, we don’t think we’d have found that elsewhere.

Practical Details

There are a number of steps that aspiring couples should undertake as part of their marriage preparation. This includes:

  • Attending a marriage preparation course recommended by the parish.

  • An introduction meeting with one of the priests which involves filling out some paperwork.

  • We particularly encourage couples to take part in a Cana programme.
