Baptism

Baptism is the most important thing that can happen in your life. We are saved from the power of sin and made children of God.

There is no age to be baptised, it is meant both for adults who can say yes in person, of for newborn babies as an act of anticipation and welcoming into the Church.

We have been in the parish for over 8 years now. All three of our children were baptised here and we feel so blessed to be part of such a beautiful, welcoming family of God. There are so many wonderful opportunities to deepen our faith and Sunday is always such a joyous occasion. We love the parish, the parishioners and priests and parish team. God bless you all and give you the strength to continue God’s work.

Sacramental Preparation

Whether you’re an adult, a young person or a parent, the sacrament of baptism requires preparation.

The plan for adults is detailed in the RCIA page.

For parents who wish to have their child baptised, our parish offers a Baptism Course consisting of three sessions of one hour each, with a previous interview of 30 minutes. These sessions intend to explore the meaning of baptism and parenthood in a friendly atmosphere.

The course is run several times a year, depending on the requests for baptisms. We usually have three or four families for each course. The three sessions are held on Sunday morning, 10-11am. Families are invited to join either the 9am or the 11am Sunday Mass, that is to say before or after the sessions.

Children baptisms are usually celebrated on Saturdays after the 11am Mass, but this can be discussed during the Course with the minister who will celebrate the sacrament.

.... it was brilliant, fantastic, I felt so good and it’s brought me closer to God. I would encourage anyone who hasn’t been baptised to do it!
